Hydropower type: Diversion, the Station No. 5 dam diverts water to its generator through a 2.8-mile long series of concrete tunnels and canals.

Output: The Searsburg Station has 1 Francis turbine which outputs 14 megawatts of power using a Westinghouse generator amounting to 52,192.9 MWH annually. Additionally the Dam features a 230 kilowatt generator which generates power while providing conservation flows downstream.

Dunbar Brook: The diversion method that Station No. 5 utilizes doesn't include pipes rather as stated before it uses tunnels and canals. The canals were built in a unique fashion, first they constructed a raised railroad and then used trains to dump soil and rocks below the tracks which formed the sides of the canal. While constructing these canals they ran into a river called Dunbar Brook. In order to continue the canal they constructed a concrete bridge which would let the canal travel over the river (which can be seen in the picture to the left). This structure also allows the flow from Dunbar Brook to be incorporated into the canal or for the canal the overflow into Dunbar brook without endangering the earthen embankments of the canal.
