The purpose of my project is to educate people on the mechanics, versatility and unique local history of hydropower while focusing on its application in low head and low flow situations. There are Hundreds of low head dams dotted across New England which are deemed useless and a hazard. I aim to highlight the untapped power potential that's stored in these dams and demonstrate the efficiency and versatility of Francis turbines based on numerous factors.
