Station No. 2 Dam + Hydroelectric Facility

• Reservoir: It covers 64 acres, and is 1.3-miles in length, sitting at 294.66 feet above sea level with 11.00 feet of managed storage.

• Generation type: Conventional hydropower

• Hydropower type: Impoundment, Station No. 2 is the only dam on the Deerfield river to use traditional hydropower where the head is entirely developed by the dam.

• Output: The Searsburg Station has 3 Francis turbines which output 7 megawatts of power using 3 General Electric generators amounting to 22,363.4 MWH annually.

• Spillway: The spillway on Station No. 2 dam feature a unique bladder style of gate. Typically a dam uses some variation of a hydraulic gate to control how much water is passing through the spillways. No. 4 uses a rubber bladder which can be inflated to vary the flow in the spillways (It can seen inflated in the picture to the left).
